About these figures

A note on labels: the budget figures come from the city's FY2025 Budget book, which is the City Manager's recommended budget (memo dated July 30, 2024: the all-funds budget is "recommended at $83,469,025"). The book itself carries no "adopted" stamp, so this page calls it recommended, exactly as the book does. Its fund-by-fund budget: Water & Sewerage $40,930,543; General Fund $27,807,115; SPLOST VIII $6,000,400; SPLOST VII $2,030,000; Canton Building Authority $1,800,032; Impact Fee $1,767,005; and ten smaller funds — summing exactly to $83,469,025.

The expenditure, fund balance, debt, and population figures are audited FY2025 results from the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025 (Canton's fiscal year runs October 1 – September 30). The ACFR's budget-and-actual schedule tracks the original budget against these actuals; its departmental original-budget total differs from the budget book's General Fund figure only because the schedule places the $856,067 contingency and $125,629 of transfers outside departmental expenditures.
